At the end of your stay we expect guests to leave our appartment as clean and lovely as on your arrival. If you wish to have local professional cleaners to do this for you at the end of your stay, this can be arranged for a small additional cost.
There is no set start day due to different flight days from UK airports. It is a short car drive or a 20 minute walk down the hill to Akbuk village. A taxi back after a beach day out, supermarket visit or meal out in the evening costs £4. The nearest mini-market is a five minute walk away.
Akbuk Village has plenty of very good eating tavernas and many supermarkets. Altinkum resort is 20 mins by car/dolmus. This is where there is serious night-life (you won’t find a lot in Akbuk other than good places to eat, sometimes with some music and good quiz nights). There are also a Dolmus (Milos – Akbuk - Bozbuk) that come up the hill hourly from the bus station (near the market). It will pick you up if they see you walking and you flag it down. Market day is Friday - a visit to this is not to be missed!
You can explore further afield and the Dolmus services and boats at the harbour can get you most places if you do not hire a car. Historical places of interest include Apollo and Manos - Roman remains on outskirts of Altinkum. Even further a field is the famous ruined city of Ephasis, near the popular resort of Kusadarci but you will need to hire a car or go with a tour group (Agents in Altinkum arrange trips to lots of places). There are ferries to Bodrum from Altinkum - they take about 1½ hours we think which is slightly longer than by road but much more pleasant.
You can also easily drive to Bodrum and take a day trip over to the Greek island of Kos
There are boats doing boat trips around the 3 bays from Akbuk leaving the quay at 10.30 and coming back around 5.00pm. The tends to be much more available in the peak season of July and August.
If you’re a keen angler, you’ll enjoy the fishing - bring your telescopioc rod - cheap ones can be bought in the village though. You can fish from almost anywhere along Akbuk coastline. You can buy fresh fish bait in the morning from Kooperatif shop by the harbour.
There is a small fishing and tourist harbour in Akbuk. It’s nice just to sit a watch what’s going on. Sitting in one of the bar/restaurants on the front watching the harbour and Aegean Sea is a wonderful 'chill out' way af passing an hour or so. Try Liberty Bar (Ozgar's) with its own small sandy beach with sun loungers.
For Flights to Bodrum or Izmere try Easy Jet, Pegasus, Thomas Cook or Turkish Airlines or 'compare the market.com' After arranging your own flight, either hire a car or book airport transfers. These are readily available on the net from £10 or a little less each way per person from Bodrum. Shorter car hire periods can be arranged in the resort. We tend to do this when we go out for a fortnights holiday.
